Central Texas Wildfire Update

I was just at a press briefing announcing that the Texas Bar Association is setting up free clinics to provide legal advice for those affected by the fires.
The clinics will be in Bastrop at Ascension Catholic Church (802 Pine Street) and Bastrop Middle School (709 Old Austin Highway). Attorneys willing to volunteer can call David Courreges (512-615-2787) or Amy Welborn (512-825-3390).
Also, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission plans to have staff available to serve people at shelters in Bastrop and Smithville. The HHSC office is scheduled to be open at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
