Easy as Punkin Pie
Monday, November 30, 2009
Any holiday that focuses on family, food, and football just has to have the word "Thanks" in it, right? I'm probably still digesting something. But – call it serving leftovers – I did want to make sure you saw a couple of things that happened last week.
I Left My Shirt in San Francisco
Monday, November 23, 2009
Of all the odd trends I’ve seen in three years in the state Senate, the strangest might be that whenever people start talking about the water shortages that Texas faces state-wide, it seems to rain.
Mayor Roy Butler
Monday, November 16, 2009
I didn't really know Mayor Butler until I was running for and serving as mayor in 1997, though of course I knew his history and the role he played shaping the place we live in today. But he was great to me. Always positive, never second-guessing, consistently willing to help.

Monday, October 05, 2009

A Change in Plans
Tuesday, September 29, 2009
As you know, my Fourth Annual Concert Under the Stars was to feature Patty Griffin this Thursday night. I'm very sad to report that Patty's father passed away yesterday afternoon. Patty has gone to Maine to be with her family at what is a very difficult time for them. They're all in our thoughts and prayers right now.
