Convention Blog Report: Star gazing

I expect to see political stars at a deal like this.  Heck, this is the Pro Bowl of politics, at least on the Democratic side.  But, it’s sort of cool to see non-political stars all over the place.

Wednesday night must have been the night for them to all start showing up.  I got to say hello to singer Melissa Etheridge when we almost knocked each other down coming through the same door in different directions.  She didn’t ask for me to sign anything.

Charles Barkley, the Hall of Fame Basketball player, was wandering the floor.  Barkley has said he hopes someday to run for Governor of his home state of Alabama.  Most folks thought he would run (if he ever actually does) as a Republican.  But, he now says he’s a Democrat.  I guess he thinks it’s sort of like just changing a jersey—at home games you wear one color and a different color at away games.  He’s huge, by the way.  The man stands out in a crowd.  He didn’t seem to think he needed me to sign anything either.

I also saw Muhammad Ali.   And, two of the “reporters” from the Daily Show on Comedy Central.

None seemed interested in my autograph.  Maybe they’ll blog that they saw me.
