Did you know there’s an election coming?
Well, you’re half-right. The fact is that the election’s already here: early voting is underway for the March 4 primary election — it runs through this Friday.
So whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican — or you just want to pretend to be one for a few minutes — you need to go vote.
First thing’s first: don’t forget to bring a photo ID with you when you go to vote. You have to bring one of the following, and most of them can’t have been expired for more than 60 days:
And if you’re an honest, law-abiding citizen who doesn’t have one of the above and also doesn’t think that doing your constitutionally protected civic duty as an American should require you to stand in lines or fill out forms you wouldn’t need to otherwise … well, I sincerely sympathize.
Beyond that, if you live in Travis County, here’s more information about what’s on the ballot and where you can go vote. If you’re in Bastrop County, there’s a great new website you should check out with this information. And if you’re anywhere else, there’s more information here.
Go vote. No excuses. It’s important.
