This week felt a little weird. It’s just odd to take a day off in the middle of the week. Nice break, though.
I went to a chiropractor this week for my neck, which has been driving me nuts for months. A few weeks back, I got some specific treatment from a doctor for nerve pain. That gave some good relief, but I’ve continued to have discomfort beyond what he treated. The chiropractor I went to is a really good guy. But I wasn’t prepared for him “adjusting” my neck. He stood behind me, quietly assured me he was going to move things “only a small amount,” and then, when I wasn’t expecting it, he twisted my neck like Bruce Willis killing one of the bad guys in an action movie. It sounded like a gunshot. Involuntarily, and with some shame, I yelped.Theoretically, there’s nothing on the top of your skull that pops, but I swear it cracked from the top of my head to the middle of my shoulder blades. I sat very still for a second to see if he’d killed me. Once I’d satisfied myself that I wasn’t dead and the white light I was seeing was from the window, I slowly and gingerly started moving body parts to be sure there was no paralysis. That assured, I checked to make sure I hadn’t wet myself.Anyway, my neck feels pretty good. Best in months.I hope everyone had a great, relaxing, relatively dry Independence Day.
