The Edge of Your Seat

I’m still getting over all the excitement from Tuesday night.

It's hard for me to express how much fun I have watching the numbers come in -- the excitement of the early ones, seeing how they change ...

Sometimes, it gets pretty tight.  One side's up for a while, and then the other side comes back and even goes ahead.  It can be nerve-wracking.  And there's almost always someone declaring victory before everything's tallied.

Yeah, I'll just say it: There's nothing like watching junior varsity lacrosse.  And Tuesday night, Austin High's team beat Vista Ridge 11-6.  My boy Cooper plays attack for that winning team.

Of course, there were other numbers that folks were watching on Tuesday night.  I also have a blast watching election returns come in.

While there are a couple of runoff votes coming up next month, the November ballot is close to set.

And these next several months can be a long time for those who've been all pumped up and excited about getting to be good citizens.  I mean, come on – we'll vote again in the runoff, and then it's about seven months before there's another chance to go to the voting booth.

That's too long.  Some of us need more action.

So stay tuned to next week’s Watson Wire.  I’ll have a big announcement about a contest where you and folks like you will pick the winner – and, in the process, you’ll help some legislators that Texas really can’t afford to lose.

(This is what they call a "tease."  Don't you feel all tingly with anticipation?  Aren't you excited?)

I know next week is Spring Break for lots of you.  Just take your computer and/or slip away at some point to check your email.  Take it from me; you won't be able to relax if you're wondering about this all of the time.

So come back next week.  It’s going to be fun.
